In Washington State the harvesting of Razor Clams is controlled by the Washington Department of Fish and Wild Life (WDFW).  WDFW monitors the clams for toxins and publishes tentative and current seasons for the various beaches in Washington state.  Harvest times for the respective day is driven by the tides, known as a clam tide.  The limit is the first 15 clams.  There is also a time limit, no harvesting before a certain time.  Check the regulations, we were checked on our first clam dig.
